Psychosocial center for migrants (PSZ)

The psychosocial center for migrants (PSZ) in Saxony-Anhalt offers psychological counseling, therapy, psychosocial groups as well as complementary social advice. All offers are free of charge for clients and they can make use of them regardless of their residence status. If needed, a translator can be called in. All conversations are treated strictly confidential.

RosaLinde e.V.

RosaLinde e.V. provides psychosocial counseling, especially in connection with gender identity and queer ways of living. As regards the contents of the work, its starting point is that lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, inter*, queer and asexual people (short: lgbtiqa*) experience discrimination, stigmatization and pathologization on the basis of their individual ways of living. In many cases they have to overcome social, legal and medical obstacles, in order to live a self-determined life. RosaLinde e.V. provides both personal counseling on the spot and telephone consultation.

Entknoten – counseling service against racism and discrimination

Entknoten advises and supports in case of racist discrimination. The consultation provided is independent, confidential, free of charge and anonymously upon request. The advisory team consults in German, English and Farsi. Language mediators can be arranged, if necessary. The office is largely accessible free of barriers.

The lesbian and gay association (LSVD) offers personal and telephone consultation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* and inter* people. The counseling service also welcomes parents, relatives and caregivers. It covers a broad range of issues, inter alia coming out, starting a family, problems at work, relationship problems, breakups, life crises, isolation, loneliness or age. A pre-announcement for the personal counseling is desired, but not required. There is no appointment needed for calls during the consulting hours. The counseling provided is confidential.

The counseling advises and supports victims of right-wing extremist, racist, antisemitic, social Darwinist, homo- or transphobic attacks. Schwules Überfalltelefon – gay assault line

The gay assault line Magdeburg has persisted since 1997 and provides victims and witnesses of homo- and transphobic assaults of any kind (e.g. insults, humiliation, discrimination, bullying, extortion, robbery, physical or psychological violence as well as material damage) with advice and support. Lesbians, bisexuals, trans* and inter* people can consult the assault line as well. The counseling is confidential and anonymous upon request. It can be conducted on the telephone or in person (upon prior notice) and is always independent from the police

Furthermore, it establishes contacts to other trans, inter and non-binary people. The support is provided through trained peer advisors. The anti-discrimination office of the Federal Government is based in Berlin and assists in cases of discrimination and sexual harassment. It provides legal consultancy and answers questions on the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) via telephone or email. It informs about rights in cases of discrimination, provides options to enforce them, supports in aiming amicable conflict resolutions and tries to point out local experts.

Support line violence against women

The support line provides a 24/7 counseling service for women who experienced or still experience violence. The telephone consultation is confidential, anonymous, free of charge, multilingual (available in 17 languages) and barrier-free. Furthermore, there is the opportunity for consultation via email (only in German language, answer within 24 hours), as well as live chat counseling (12-8pm, only in German language) and appointment chat (only in German language).
